A child's suffering does not always express itself directly through words. It may appear in their behavior, their sleep, eating habits, schooling, or relationships.
A sudden change, withdrawal, unusual irritability, repeated crying, or loss of interest may warrant particular attention.
The consultation takes into account the child, their environment, and what may have changed in their life, without immediately reducing their behavior to a single cause.
Some children become silent in the face of difficulty. Others become agitated, aggressive, oppositional, or anxious.
Behavior can be a way of expressing something that cannot yet be put into words.
However, not every behavior should be systematically interpreted as a symptom. The child's age, development, context, and history must all be taken into account.
A change may appear after a separation, a move, a school difficulty, a bullying situation, or a relational difficulty.
It may also accompany a period of developmental transformation.
The consultation allows us to explore what has changed in the environment and how the child is experiencing this transformation.
School refusal can have many causes: anxiety, bullying, relational difficulties, learning difficulties, or psychological suffering.
It is important to identify what specifically makes school difficult for the child.
Appropriate support may require working with the child, the parents, and, depending on the situation, the school or other professionals.
Work with the child is based on a framework adapted to their age.
Play, drawing, stories, or speech can serve as supports for expressing what is difficult to say directly.
Exchanges with parents may also be necessary to understand the context.
I offer consultations in Lyon, in my practice, for children and their parents. For younger children, in-person sessions may be preferred. Teleconsultation can be considered in certain situations, particularly with parents.
A first meeting allows us to get acquainted, clarify your request, and see whether a psychoanalytic approach suits your situation and expectations.
